While surfing the web I found some interesting facts about Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Machines. I have studied and compared the competition and found the most efficient, thorough cleaning machine on the market today!
The main problem concerning with most Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Systems is that most of them are automated. Automated means you push a button and walk away from the machine without a person operating them, which some companies have paid a pretty price for. The issue is these machines DON’T know which specific cells are clean and which ones need more cleaning.
Exhaust from the engine can enter the inlet can in many different ways, through the center or side. The flow pattern of the exhaust can create a large accumulation of soot (what they call “gum ball”) in a specific area on the substrate. If you are using an automated system it won’t recognize that problem area and “assume” its DPF is cleaned properly. With my cleaning system I can “focus” on the problem area until it is completely cleaned.
Notice in the picture below the obvious signs of unclean cells (The Black dot in the middle, and the Pie Shaped black areas that are not cleaned)
With my Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Machine system, you can assure I'm getting the entire DPF cleaned thoroughly from both ends multiple times, and every problem area in between in the same amount of time or less.
SOME MORE FACTS:
Diesel Particulate Filters are kiln-baked at temperatures reaching up to 1100 degrees F. During the bake cycle, the high temperatures will burn off any excess soot and will create a fracture between ash deposits in the cells and the ceramic cell walls. Once the bond has been broken, the ash is easily removed from the individual cells. Depending on the condition of the filter, thermal cycle times can take anywhere from 9 to 24 to 48 hours. So by baking your DPF you are throughly cleaning the filter. For those of you that think by baking your filter will RUIN it, Just think your truck bakes the filter every 150 miles or so. at much higher temps.
